Milton Keynes Council’s External Scrutiny Panel

As a result of the disruption experienced by rail travellers to and from Milton Keynes, Milton Keynes Council are calling the rail industry to account for the deterioration in rail services from
Milton Keynes Central and Bletchley.
Milton Keynes Council’s External Scrutiny Panel is a panel of 7 elected Members that scrutinises external agencies in
Milton Keynes. Its key roles are enabling the voice and concerns of the public and driving improvements in public services.
The External Scrutiny Panel has scheduled a public meeting to be held on 30 March 2009, part of which will focus on discussing current issues in relation to the quality of rail services in
Milton Keynes. The intention of the meeting is to establish the degree of performance failure currently and what actions can be taken to improve performance.

The Scrutiny Committee are inviting a variety of witnesses to attend the meeting and, as a result, time for public involvement may be limited, depending on the number of people in attendance. However where possible every effort will be made to ensure that everyone has a chance to speak. It is intended that the there will be two items on the agenda of which this will be considered second. If, in addition to making a written submission, you wish to make a personal representation, please make it clear in your submission that, if given the opportunity, you wish to speak at the meeting.
