Dear Milton Keynes Passenger
I would like to apologise for the delay in the commissioning of the new Passenger Information system at this station.
We are now completing the final testing stage of the displays around the platform areas, which will then more than double the amount of displays available. Unfortunately the main displays for the concourse can not be installed until the end of June, this is due to additional engineering complications to ensure the main concourse displays can be safely loaded in to place.
I have spoken to our partners Network Rail and I have decided that the timescale for the main concourse display is now too long and we have therefore jointly agreed to go live with the rest of the system around the station.
The following tasks will be started week commencing the 18th May:
1. Install a temporary flat screen on the concourse showing a summary of train departures.
2. Recover existing screens on platform 6, please note there will be a three day period with no visual information on platform 6. Additional announcements will be made.
3. Recover and renew the information screen at the ticket barrier.
4. New operator PC’s to be installed and tested.
5. Live operation of the system and onsite training for the operators commences on Saturday the 23rd May.
The additional new display for platform 2A will be installed in June at the same time as the concourse main displays.
The picture below shows an artist impression of what the main concourse display will look like and is just one of many significant improvements that I hope you will approve of, which are planned for Northampton Line stations.
Yours sincerely
Matthew Clarke
Passenger Services Manager
