10th November 2008 - MK commuters tackle the Managing Director of London Midland
What are the issues that rail travellers complain about to MK Rail Users? Typical complaints would be:
- Why have the off-peak fares been raised twice in one year?
- Why is it so difficult to claim refunds when services fail, and why do London Midland give a credit towards the next season ticket rather than a cash refund?
- Why do regular commuters have to stand, frequently all the way to and from London, despite paying many thousands of pounds for a ticket?
- Why are there so few trains at weekends?
- Why is the information provided at Euston in the event of disruption to services so poor?
- Why did it take London Midland so long to issue pocket timetables when they took over the franchise from Silverlink?
On Thursday 13th November, local travellers will have the opportunity to raise these questions or any other questions they may have with Steve Banaghan, Managing Director, London Midland who is attending the MK Rail Users Annual General Meeting.
The meeting, which is open to all, is being held at Centrecom, 602 North Row, Secklow Gate West, MK9 3BJ on Thursday 13th November starting at 7.30pm, with a scheduled finish time of 9.30pm
Following the 2007 AGM, a number of travellers expressed dissatisfaction that they didn’t get the chance to ask their questions, so this year MK Rail Users is asking people with a question to submit it in advance to agm@mkrailusers.org.uk. This way questions will be able to be grouped, which will help Steve Banaghan to respond to as many questions as possible.
If time permits, questions will be taken from the floor, but if you have a burning issue to raise with the head of London Midland, be sure to email it to MK Rail Users before Thursday 13th.
